Review from Goodreads;
When Wendy Geller's body is found in Central Park after the night of a rager, newspaper headlines scream,"Death in the Park: Party Girl Found Strangled." But shy Rain, once Wendy's best friend, knows there was more to Wendy than just "party girl." As she struggles to separate the friend she knew from the tangle of gossip and headlines, Rain becomes determined to discover the truth about the murder.
Review;
4 stars- really liked it.
This is by far the best mystery book I've read in ages.I don't normally read mystery, but I gave this a chance and am I glad for it.
The Girl in The Park is set on New York City, a city in where anything can happen, according to my mind.. haha.  Fredericks manages to capture every place said in the book, like Central Park, perfectly, what with her detailed writing and experience. Click here for Mariah's inspiration for the book and how she managed to make it so suspenseful and realistic.

There's so many clues all over the place for Rain, once Wendy's best friend, to help figure out who Wendy's murder is, but for her to actually help, she has to speak up. You might wonder how that can be challenging but Rain isn't your average girl, no. This book captures the secret lives of many teenagers, and the world within it in a realistic voice and characters that capture reader's attention from beginning to end. I liked the characters, they were really realistic and conveyed realistic reactions along with the emotion a teenager would feel when put in these situations.

Mariah Fredericks' The Girl in The Park is written in a realistic voice conveying the emotions and actions of a teenage girl in the midst of a murder crime. The Girl in The Park will have you on the edge of your seat, trying to figure out the truth about Wendy's murder.
