Have you ever bought a book BECAUSE of a bad review?
Um I don't remember if I have. Usually I buy a book based on how much I want to read it. Sometimes though, I can't help reading a review and changing where the book is on on my TBR list.
I don't think I have bought a book because of a bad review either. But I do read the reviews and sometimes look into the book a little more before reading it. Here is my FF
ReplyDeleteNew follower. Happy reading!
Thanks for following; you're travels page is quite impressive :D
DeleteI'm the exact same. I'm a new follower by the way :)
ReplyDeletethanks for following.
DeleteMy TBR list is constantly fluctuating because of reviews, when I see constant ravings it definitely makes me bump it higher. And inversely, when I see a lot of negative reviews, it makes me less eager to get to it and I'll bump things up before it.
ReplyDeleteHappy friday :)

Precisely. Thanks for stopping by. :D
DeleteOld follower hopping through. I'm not so sure either if I have BOUGHT a book solely based on a negative review, but I have definitely read some because of that. *g*
ReplyDeletePatricia // My FF
I don't believe I have either.
DeleteI've also moved a book on my TBR list based on reviews, but I've never bought one because of a bad review. Thanks for stopping by my blog! New follower!
ReplyDeleteI think everyone has their own opinion so even if people write bad reviews, I'll probably buy it and read it.
DeleteThanks for following. :)
Thanks for stopping by my blog! I have done the same thing, changed a books "position" on my TBR pile based on a review.
ReplyDeleteHappy Reading!
I know right! :D Finally, someone that has the same opinion haha. :)
DeleteJust hopping by, have a great week-end.

ReplyDeletefollowed! Great blog btw.
DeleteFollowed back! (:
ReplyDeletefollowed back.
ReplyDeletefollowed back; great blog! :D
ReplyDeleteYeah, sometimes reading a review will make me put a book farther down my TBR list :)
ReplyDeleteSometimes a bad review will spark me to have to see for myself, so yes I have and most times I've ended up liking the book. I'm a new GFC and linky follower.
ReplyDeleteEvery once in a while I will do that too. Since I have so many books that I want to read I might move it down but I will still read it.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your answer- It's a sad fact and true one that a book one may love when they read it can be swayed by a bad review. I take note of what people say about certain books that I'm interested in, I'm still really keen to read The Selection by Keria Cass, but I've seen a few people haven't taken to it.
ReplyDeleteNew follower! My Follow Fridat
I actually think I've done this before myself, read a few negative reviews and then changed the place on my tbr list. Mostly, I've moved it up because I was so darn curious and wanted to form my own opinion, especially if it's from a genre that I normally like to read. :)

I agree with you. I just read what I want to read regardless of what the reviews are. Thanks for stopping by my blog! New follower via GFC :)
ReplyDeleteGreat answer! I try to form my own opinion as well :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, I'm an old follower.
Purchases will never be based off a bad review for me. Why waste money?
ReplyDeleteI normally buy a book just based on the summary and cover if I've never heard of it before hah.
ReplyDeleteNew follower via GFC. :)

Me too :( But at the same time I love buying random books without reading the reviews so that I'm going in blind!
ReplyDeleteSorry for the late FF reply! Thank you for stopping by my blog, I'm following you back :)

I usually look at the summary first, too. But lately I've been relying on reviews and recommendations! Yep, I'd never read a book just because of a book.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by :)
