Summary from Goodreads:
Otherworldly Creatures. Dazzling Magic. Fiery Romance.
Shiloh Ravenwolf thought she was getting used to the strange events in Whispering Pines, until the full moon brings another surge of supernatural threats to her coastal town. Ferocious wolves, deadly necromancers, and shambling zombies have descended upon the neighborhood, so Shiloh needs to gain control of her magical abilities—fast!
It sucks that she has a crippling fear of the dark, which for a demon hunter can be an epic problem. But she spends so much time wallowing in the darkness, how can she not become a part of it?
When her classmates are attacked by a mysterious creature and her father is murdered, Shiloh vows vengeance. Forcing her phobias aside, she forms an unlikely coven of supernaturally gifted teens to help her eradicate this menace. Except that’s not all Shiloh has to worry about. She’s battling a different monster within herself and struggling not to become the very thing she fights: evil.
But with demon blood inside her—anything can happen…
May contain spoilers, please don't read if you haven't read the first book in the series.

Thoughts:
.__. <--- That was my face after reading the book. Well, one of them at the very least. I had so many emotions while reading this book. It was honestly like watching a horror/ scary movie. I was freaked out at times and frozen in suspense at others. I couldn't get enough of the novel and characters. I was so into the storyline that I finished the book in one sitting. It was just so engrossing! :D This series is definitively one I'll be checking up on in the future, I can't wait for the third one to come out!
Characters:
The characters, mhmm. Shiloh has some shadows that she used to be scared of, but now protect her. She has a hunk of a boyfriend but she's in the midst of a lot of supernatural problems. Her town always seems to have some unexpected visitor. When it isn't a ghost, it's a demon, when it isn't a whole pack of wolfs, it's her boyfriend and her finding out stuff about their past. Shiloh still manages to stay strong throughout all this and that's what made me like her so much. I wish she'd been a little less focused on her boyfriend though. It's not something that gets in the way but still. Now, her boyfriend. Mmmh, the twist Sherry throws in is so awesome! It was so unexpected although I could predict because it was sort of foreshadowed but it still managed to shock me! I also really enjoy how Shiloh's friends are more involved in the story and I can't see where the next book takes them.
Romance:
The romance. I have to admit, the romance in this book wasn't the main focus in this book. Yeah, it was a big part of the story but it wasn't as big as in the first book and I found I enjoyed it a tad more how she didn't become completely attached to her boyfriend and well, you know, whiny and clingy.
Ending:
I'm beginning to see a pattern in this series for the endings. The endings always include a twist that makes me unable to wait for the next book! Now I really can't wait for the third book!
Recommendation:
I recommend this to anyone looking for a read where the writing and description makes you feel as though you're watching a movie instead of reading a novel. Also, to fans of lycans or werewolves or even any paranormal creature, really.
First sentence:
"My body relaxed for the first time in weeks without the fear of demon blood infecting me with darkness."
Quotes:
"The boy moved faster than a blink. He stood inches from me." -Page 53
"The huge raven circled overhead, its shadow passing over us. I shuddered. It soared on widespread wings with feathers that looked as dark as my future." -Page 209
