Summary from Goodreads:
"As I step into the room, a silver flash blurs my vision. Before I can take a breath, the world falls away."
Brianna has always felt invisible. People stare right past her, including the one boy she can't resist, Blake Williams. But everything changes at a house party where Brianna's charm bracelet slips off and time stands still. In that one frozen, silver moment, Blake not only sees her, he recognizes something deep inside her she's been hiding even from herself.
Discovering she is descended from Danu, the legendary Bandia of Celtic myth, Brianna finds herself questioning the truth of who she is. And when she accidentally binds her soul to Blake, their mutual attraction becomes undeniable.
But Blake has his own secret, one that could prove deadly for them both.
Bound together by forbidden magic, Brianna and Blake find themselves at the heart of an ancient feud that threatens to destroy their lives and their love.

Thoughts:
Silver is a tricky book to review, in my opinion. Did I enjoy it? Yes. Would I reread it? There's a slight chance. Would I read the second one? Probably. Do I love the cover? Heck yeah. Did it live to my expectations? Unfortunately  no. I was expecting more well, magic. Or at least more on the Celtic myth but there wasn't. The plotline and story were original and unique though, which I really liked.
Characters:
Brianna was an interesting character to read from. She was however, a tad annoying in the way that she chased after Blake even though he kept pushing her away. In that aspect, you can even say that she reminded me of Bella Swam from the Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer. Yup, I ignored that fact as I read though, which in a way made my reading experience a bit more enjoyable. Blake was a jerk, yup but he was also sweet. . but he was a jerk.. I rarely like when male characters in YA novels switch from being a jerk to a sweetheart unless he has a reason for being a jerk and Blake did, I guess. He was only trying to protect Brianna but I still found him a jerk.. \(.__.)/ I didn't really like Brianna's best friend because she seemed to self centered and only seemed to hang around Briana to make herself feel more beautiful and better about herself.
Romance:
I actually enjoyed the romance in this book. Excluding all the times I wanted to shake Brianna and slap Blake that is.. but it was enjoyable. It was insta love in a way but it works out.
Ending:
The ending was really good. It had lots of action and I actually really, really enjoyed it. It was a good ending in the fact that everything in the book led up to it and I hadn't really expected it.
Recommendation:
I would recommend this to fans of the Twilight Saga and anyone looking for a quick read.
First Sentence:
"Beauty is pointless when no one's looking."
Quotes:
"His green eyes lock with mine. There is nothing effortless or light about the way they burn through me now, dark and relentless. I shudder as the shiver in my spine twists into an icy wave." -Page 14

  1. That last quote is very good! I like it, but I am not a twilight fan so I will stay away from this one.

  2. Ohh, Brianna does sound a bit like Bella. I didn't really like Bella or Twilight though lol. I've been wanting to read this one, but I think I'll skip it for now. :D

    Thanks for the review!
